Sudowrite drafts with you: Write suggests roughly the next 300 words in your voice, Story Bible walks step by step from idea to outline to chapter beats to draft, and Rewrite, Expand and Describe rework what exists. The Professional plan adds developmental edits, line edits and beta reads.
For writers whose problem is canon and continuity
Kanonara keeps a Story Bible with dated character states, checks each analysed chapter against everything established with Story Doctor, publishes chapters on a schedule to a public library, and never inserts text: every AI finding is a proposal you accept, reject or edit.
Where Sudowrite is the better choice
If the job you want done is drafting, Sudowrite is built for it. Its home page leads with Write, which suggests roughly the next 300 words in the writer's voice with multiple options to choose from, and with Story Bible, which its site says takes you step by step from idea, to outline, to beating out chapters, to thousands of words. Describe, Expand and Rewrite attack flat description, rushed scenes and stubborn sentences, and Brainstorm generates names, magic items and titles while learning from what you like.
The Professional plan ($22 a month) adds Feedback with developmental edits, line edits and beta reads, and the Max plan ($44) rolls unused credits over for 12 months. There is also an ecosystem: the Muse model its site describes as built just for fiction, and more than 1,000 plugins, including simulating readers and converting novels to screenplays. Kanonara does none of this. It will not draft your next paragraph, and if generation is what you are buying, Sudowrite is the tool that sells it.
Where Kanonara is the better choice
Kanonara starts where a long story actually breaks down: the record. Its Story Bible keeps characters, places, relationships, facts, rules, items and secrets as author-owned records, and character states are dated, so the story remembers who a character was in chapter seven, not just who they are now. Sudowrite's pricing page lists "Ensure continuity across a series", and its Chat can update your Story Bible for you; in Kanonara the record is the product, and it changes only under your approval.
Story Doctor then checks each analysed chapter against that canon: character contradictions, timeline conflicts, item continuity, character knowledge and world rules, with each alert citing the passage that raised it. For web serials the difference is structural. Kanonara publishes per book or per chapter with scheduled releases to a public library, with reader comments, reactions, follows with new-chapter emails and per-chapter analytics, on fixed A6 pages that are the same in the editor and in the reader.
