Copyright and takedown requests

Authors keep the copyright in the books they write and publish on Kanonara. If your work appears here without your permission, tell us with the form below.
1. Before you report
Report only work you own, or that you are authorised to act for. A report starts a review that can take a book offline, so please be accurate: short quotes, shared tropes and similar ideas are usually not copying.
If you are unsure, compare the passages side by side first.
2. What to include
- your name and an email address where we can reach you;
- the Kanonara page you are reporting (a link to the book);
- your original work, and where it can be seen;
- which chapters or passages copy it;
- the two statements in the form, and your typed name as a signature.
3. What happens next
Our team reviews every report. If the book copies your work, we unpublish it: it leaves the public library and readers can no longer open it. We tell the author what was claimed and by whom (your name, not your email address), and why the book was unpublished.
We may contact you if we need more information. Incomplete or unclear reports may be closed.
4. If your book was unpublished
Nothing is deleted: your book returns to your drafts with every chapter and your story bible. If you believe the report is mistaken, for example because you own the work or have permission to publish it, reply to the email we sent you and explain. We will review your response and may republish the book.
5. Repeat infringement and false reports
We close the accounts of people who repeatedly publish others’ work. Knowingly false reports are a misuse of this process, and we may ignore further reports from their sender. See our Terms of Use for the rules that apply to everyone.
