Catch contradictions before your readers do
Story Doctor is Kanonara’s continuity checker. When you analyze a chapter, it compares the chapter with everything your story has already established: who your characters are, what they know, where they are, what they carry and what your world allows. When something doesn’t fit, it tells you what, where and why, and leaves the decision to you.
What it checks
Seven kinds of contradiction, each judged against your story bible and earlier chapters.
Character contradiction
A character does something the story has ruled out.
Chapter 7 establishes that Kai cannot use Fire Magic. In Chapter 18 he casts Fireball.
Timeline conflict
Events that can't all be true on the same date or in the same order.
Mia is in Yangon on March 14. Chapter 22 places her in Tokyo on the same date.
Item continuity
An object used after it was lost, destroyed or given away.
The Dragon Sword shatters in Chapter 14. In Chapter 21 Kai draws it.
Character knowledge
A character knows something no earlier scene told them.
Kai knows the King is secretly a dragon, but no scene shows how he learned it.
World rule
Something happens that your world's rules forbid, with no exception established.
Your world says humans cannot teleport. In Chapter 32, Kai teleports.
Location contradiction
A character is somewhere they can't be, or a place is described against its recorded surroundings.
Mia leaves the Northern Keep at dusk and is in the harbour market a page later, with no journey between.
Relationship contradiction
Characters behave against their recorded relationship with no change shown.
Kai and Ren are sworn enemies in your canon. In Chapter 30 they share secrets like old friends.

Every alert names the problem, shows the evidence on both sides, and carries one of four levels, so you can deal with the serious ones first. There is no score for your story: an alert is a question about one detail, not a grade.
- Critical
- A direct or highly likely contradiction.
- Warning
- A possible inconsistency worth a look.
- Question
- Something unclear: the story may not say enough yet.
- Suggestion
- A possible improvement, not a problem.

Chapter 14: “The Dragon Sword shattered against the golem’s stone hide.”
Chapter 21: “Kai drew the Dragon Sword from its sheath.”
No explanation found for it returning.
You decide what happens next
Read the evidence
Each alert shows what your story established and the chapter text that conflicts with it. Jump straight to the passage in the chapter.
Mark it intentional
Not every contradiction is a mistake. A deliberate mystery or an unreliable narrator stays, and is marked as yours.
Resolve or ignore it
Fixed it in the text? Mark it resolved. Not worth it? Ignore it. You can reopen any alert later.
Write down why
Save a note with your decision: the sword was repaired off-page, the date is a lie Mia tells.
What Story Doctor won’t do
- It won’t touch your text. Alerts point at passages. Only you change them.
- It won’t decide what’s true. New facts it finds come back as proposals, and join your canon only if you accept them.
- It isn’t infallible. It can miss a contradiction or flag one that isn’t there, which is why every alert comes with its evidence.
- It won’t hold up your writing. Analysis runs in the background. If it fails, your chapter is still saved and you can run it again.
Write the long story. Keep it straight.
